Frugal grocery shoppers like to shop with a list.
My personal grocery shopping motto is, “stick to the list, leave the husband in the car.” It’s not as catchy as hakuna matata, but at least it uses real words.
My hubs likes to casually toss things in the cart.
“It’s only $1.98,” he’ll say.
“It’s on sale,” he’ll say.
I should drag him along more often to help build up his marketing immunity.
I finally managed to save one of my grocery receipts from the depths of the black hole abyss that is my diaper bag. Bonus: it doesn’t seem to have any embarrassing items on it. Double Bonus: look at me being a good mom, buying my baby food.
There is only one item more expensive than $4 on this list.
Lots of little, itty bitty, just a buck or two items.
And even though I plan for it with my little lists, I’m always slightly surprised when it comes time to total.
Be honest. You’re a little surprised right?
